ISHPEMING — One of the largest crowds of the season is expected to witness Friday night’s basketball game in the high school gymnasium between Ishpeming and Negaunee, both undeated so far this season. Negaunee’s quintet includes some of the players who were members of the 1930 Class B state championship crews. Rudness and Phillips, on the last championship team, are the nucleus and have the able assistance of Hawkins, Bissonette and Goldsworthy. Their overwhelming victory over the Soo to the tune of 30 to 10 stamps Negaunee as a team to be reckoned with. Ishpeming also has won all of its games so far this season. Coach Watson has been giving the boys stiff workouts this week in preparation for what is expected to be the hardest game of the year. Dion, Marra, and Marietta, three of last year’s regulars, are back in uniform. The home fans will have their first opportunity tonight to see the Hematites’ new uniforms of white and blue.
