The article entitled “Watch for the ‘big green sign'” on page 10A of Friday’s Mining Journal should have stated that Tree Farm is not a program of the Michigan Forest Association. The American Tree Farm System is a national program of the American Forest Foundation that is administered in Michigan by the Michigan Tree Farm Committee, a 501c3 nonprofit, and by two two independently managed groups: Green Timber Consulting Foresters in Pelkie and Grossman Forestry in Newberry. Also, it should have stated Matt Watkeys, certified forester for the Marquette and Alger conservation districts, is Michigan’s Tree Farm Inspector of the Year for 2021.
