MARQUETTE — The first Sunday of December is traditionally the day the Elks Order remembers their departed members with a special memorial service, but organizers have announced that the service will need to take place at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In vain we call! They have passed through the valley of the shadows into the sunlight of eternal morning; the places that have known them shall know them no more, but upon out tablets of love and memory, their names shall endure forever,” organizers said in the release.
