MARQUETTE – Messiah Lutheran Church is offering up to $20,000 in a matching donation to any new donations for the Room at the Inn Shelter project.

“Room at the Inn is a vital ministry in our community and Messiah Lutheran Church is proud to have been involved since RATI began in 2007. Now as RATI looks to the future and works toward a permanent shelter space above the Warming Center, our congregation is excited to offer a challenge pledge toward that construction,” organizers said in a press release. “As a congregation we are committed to caring for those in need (Matthew 25), and as such are offering up to $20,000 in a matching donation to any new donations for the Room at the Inn shelter project. Messiah is delighted to be in the position to be able to offer this challenge and we are pleased that such a vital ministry in our midst is moving toward permanent shelter space.”

To participate in this matching challenge, mail a donation to Room at the Inn at 347 Rock Street, Marquette, MI, 49855. Write “Messiah Match” in the memo line.

Those who donate through the website are asked to contact RATI so that they know the donation is designated toward Messiah’s challenge.
