Bloodmobile to be in Marquette

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Lions Club is hosting the UP Regional Blood Center’s Bloodmobile at Marquette Lions Lakeside Park located at 501 S. Front St. from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 24.

A challenge, with a $100 cash prize, will be awarded to the Marquette or a surrounding area Lions Club which can raise the most donations.

The event announcement states: “Please call your neighbors, friends & family, to support your favorite Lions Club and come help the 13 UP Hospitals in this critical time.

“As an added bonus for all those who join us in the park with your donation will be invited to enjoy a free ‘blood curdling’ cup of coffee at Dead River Roast right around the corner from the park on Baraga Avenue as our thank you.”

For those unable to attend at that time of the blood drive, it will continue at the UP Regional Blood Center Marquette on the corner of College Avenue and Hawley Street until Oct. 30.
