Man arraigned in stabbing incident

IRONWOOD — A Gillet, Wisconsin man has been arraigned for assault with intent to commit murder in related to a stabbing incident on Wednesday.

Benjamin Allen Bozile, age 30, remains lodged in the Gogebic County Jail on a $5 million cash bond after being arraigned in the Gogebic County 98th District Court.

The charges stem from an incident at a motel on Cloverland Drive in Ironwood, a press release from the Ironwood Department of Public Safety states.

Officers responded to reports of a man laying in the motel parking lot bleeding and discovered a 36-year-old mail who had been stabbed several times. His throat had also been slit, officials say.

Bozile fled the scene before being spotted by a Wisconsin State Police trooper and arrested following a short pursuit. He was brought to the Iron County Jail in Wisconsin before being extradited back to Michigan.

The victim was transported by Beacon Ambulance to Aspirus – Ironwood for initial treatment, then transported by air to Aspirus-Wausau where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The case remains under investigation.

The Hurley Police, Iron County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Iron County Human Services assisted in the case, which remains under investigation.
