Spaghetti dinner fundraiser set
MARQUETTE — On Jan. 30, the Rivord family lost their home to a house fire in Negaunee.
The Rivords — Jessica, Eric and their 1 year old daughter Haylee — lost everything.
Previously, a spaghetti fundraising event for them was scheduled for March and was canceled due to the COVID-19 situation.
A new event has been planned. A golf scramble and spaghetti dinner will be held Aug. 23 at the Wawonowin Country Club in Champion.
The golf event will involve four-person teams, $50 per person, 18 holes beginning with registration at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Call 906-360-5252 or email andreajackson29@gmail.com to register a team or to become a tee sign sponsor.
There will then will be a spaghetti dinner beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. The dinner is included for registered golfers. The cost for non-golfers is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
There is limited, spaced-out indoor seating, and lots of spread-out outdoor seating. Orders also will be available to go.
The event will include bucket raffles with more than 70 buckets on site, many valuing over $250. The bucket raffles also will be outdoors, with the drawing at 6 p.m. One does not have to be present to win.
Masks will be required unless sitting at a table to eat. Volunteers will be sanitizing and cleaning throughout the event.
