Food distribution Saturday
MARQUETTE — The American Legion and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians have partnered with Gleaners Community Food Bank in Detroit to distribute food boxes to veterans, seniors and families in need in the Upper Peninsula.
Legionnaires and veterans will distribute 200 boxes of nonperishable foods from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 44, 700 W. Bluff St., Marquette.
This event is contactless; drivers stay in their vehicle while volunteers load a 35-pound food box into the trunk or rear of the car.
