Driver arrested on drug charges
SAULT STE. MARIE — A driver was arrested on Thursday in Soo Township on various drug-related charges.
The Michigan State Police Sault Ste. Marie Post reported that at approximately 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a trooper from the post stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Baker Side Road near 6-Mile Road in Soo Township. The driver appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was identified as a 23-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man.
Following the investigation, the driver was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs and a prior felony arrest.
The driver was taken into custody and lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
