Reading program starts at NPL

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Public Library will be offering a summer reading program for all ages from today through Aug. 15.

Children age 3 and up can register to participate and pick up a reading log to track the time they spend reading, as well as a free book and kit of his or her choice, on or after today. Every child who completes his or her reading log by Saturday, Aug. 15, will receive a certificate for a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut in Ishpeming.

The program for tweens and teens (grades 5-12) will be similar to the children’s program, but teens can set their own reading goals. Every tween or teen who completes his or her reading log by Saturday, Aug. 15, will receive a certificate for a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut in Ishpeming. There will also be a competition for who reads the most pages, with cool prizes at stake. The drawing will take place on Monday, Aug. 17.

Adult patrons may fill out a slip with their name, phone number, and the book or audiobook they read to enter a drawing for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses.
