Offices to close for holiday

MARQUETTE — City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Ave.; Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Ave.; Arts and Culture Center, 217 N. Front St. (in the Peter White Public Library); and the Municipal Service Center, 110 Wright St., will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Marquette Police, Fire and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time. There will be no change in garbage pickup for city residents.

City facilities will continue operations Monday. July 6 but will be closed to the public, in compliance with executive orders. This includes City Hall, the Municipal Service Center, Fire Stations 1 and 2, the Police Department, Lakeview Arena, the Senior Center, the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Water Treatment Plant. The city will be operating at reduced staffing levels for the duration of the executive order and phone availability will be limited.

To contact the city about essential business, information for each city department is available at marquettemi.gov/departments. Officials are advising residents to prioritize electronic communication when possible.

For emergency services, dial 911. For non-emergency police assistance, call 906-228-0400 — the Marquette Police Department will be evaluating non-emergency calls and wil dispatch services accordingly.
