MARQUETTE — An Illinois man was rescued on Friday after “becoming disoriented” near Hogsback Mountain in Marquette on Friday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Search and rescue team was dispatched upon reports that Ian Pedelty, age 26, had become lost while hiking on the trails around the mountain at around 6:10 p.m.

Marquette County Central Dispatch was able to determine the Pedelty’s location and search-and-rescue team members were able to hike in and assist him back to their vehicle in the Hogsback Mountain parking lot, according to a Marquette County Sheriff’s Office press release.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
