2 injured in Negaunee accident
NEGAUNEE — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Baldwin Avenue, according to the Negaunee City Police Department.
Police said a blue Chevrolet Blazer was traveling east on U.S. 41 when the driver disregarded a red light and went through the intersection. The Blazer then was struck by a gray GMC Terrain traveling north on Baldwin.
The Blazer then rolled over and came to rest in the eastbound lane on U.S. 41, but was facing west.
The driver and front passenger of the Blazer were transported to Upper Peninsula Health System-Marquette to be treated for injuries. The driver of the Terrain was uninjured.
Names are not being released at this time.
Assisting in the incident were the Negaunee Fire Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette County Search and Rescue, Michigan State Police, Ishpeming Police Department and UPHS EMS.
