NEGAUNEE — A crash that took place on Thursday in Negaunee Township still is under investigation.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, it was dispatched to a two-vehicle personal-injury crash on U.S. 41 near Link Road. Jordyn LaFreniere, 25, of Negaunee, was eastbound on U.S. 41 in a 2008 Ford Explorer. Lillian Andriacchi, 90, of Ishpeming turned south on Link Road from U.S. 41 in her 2015 Chevrolet Equinox when she crossed into the path of LaFreniere’s eastbound vehicle, causing a crash.

Andriacchi was taken by ambulance to UP Health System-Marquette where she was treated for severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted on the scene by the Michigan State Police, Negaunee Township Fire/EMS, UP Health System-Marquette EMS, Mr. Wrecker and Marquette Detailing.
