City commission meeting Monday

MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall in Commission Chambers and the public is invited to view and participate in the meeting electronically.

Due to executive orders issued from the office of the governor, the meeting is to be held without the public in physical attendance. The meeting will be streamed on Channel 191 and the City of Marquette’s YouTube channel.

There will be two options for public participation via phone conferencing or written comment during the two public comment periods: one at the beginning and one at the end. Comments are limited to three minutes and speakers must state their name and address; written comments are limited to 500 words and must be submitted by 4 p.m. Monday to khazeres@marquettemi.gov.

For those wishing to call in and make a comment, dial 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID 861 8437 2942.

Participants will be placed into a virtual lobby/on-hold that opens at 5:50 p.m. until public comment is reached. Once public comment is open, Mayor Jenna Smith will go through each person waiting in the lobby one at a time and allow them a chance to address the commission. Officials urge participants to follow the meeting on Channel 191 or YouTube to know when public comment is happening.
