No injuries in K.I. Sawyer structure fire

MARQUETTE — All occupants were safely evacuated from a structure fire that occurred in K.I. Sawyer Saturday night.

Around midnight, the Forsyth Township Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a structure fire located at 142 Banshee St., officials said.

It was reported that flames were visible from the second story window and that all residents escaped the residence without injury, a press release from the Forsyth Township Police Department states.

Police evacuated the residents of the adjacent duplex connected to the one at 142 Banshee St.

The Forsyth Township Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The Forsyth Township Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Forsyth Township Police Department and EMS, Marquette County Rescue 131 and the Sands Township Fire Department.
