Protesters ‘Take a Knee’ during Super Bowl

Participants of the Take A Knee Peaceful protest kneel with signs in support of Colin Kaepernick outside of the Marquette post office Sunday evening. Tom Moseley III protested in front of the post office every game day last football season, a total of 55 times. “Today, we are standing in solidarity with the families who have lost loved ones to police and supporting Colin Kaepernick’s Take A Knee movement that was started to highlight police brutality as well as the country’s systemic injustices and failures toward people of color and the economically disadvantaged,” he said. Moseley resonates with Kaepernick’s personal story and said his decision to risk playing the game he loves and as well as his job to stand for what he believes in speaks to his character. “It could really honestly happen to anyone. Sometimes it is an honest mistake when the police officer kills someone but the fact that they rarely face any consequences is a huge part of the problem,” Moseley said. “Police brutality in itself is a symptom of deeper rooted issues, so it’s important to look at things on a case by case basis and not make assumptions.” Visit “Take A Knee Peaceful Protest” for more information.
