Missing teen found in Marquette
MARQUETTE — A missing teen was found safe after a search Sunday in Marquette, according to police.
At approximately 6:18 p.m. Sunday, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of County Road 492 and Grove Street in Marquette Township for a missing 14-year-old with autism who had run into the woods, a press release from the sheriff’s office states.
After a lengthy search, the teenager was found in the city of Marquette. He was not in need of any medical attention and was returned to the care of his parents, officials said.
The sheriff’s department was assisted on the scene by Marquette County Special Operations, Marquette County Search and Rescue, Michigan State Police, Northern Michigan University Public Safety and the Marquette City Police Department.
