U.P. 911 outages resolved

MARQUETTE — The Michigan State Police Negaunee Regional Communication Center was experiencing a major 911 outage in the Upper Peninsula, a press release from the Michigan State Police states, but it has been resolved.

The outages impacted residents of Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, Ontonagon and/or Schoolcraft counties who were unable to dial 911.

An upgrade to the 911 system caused a technical issue. Crews are working to resolve the issue currently.

The issue was resolved early today and people can resume using 911 in the affected counties.
