Injuries sustained following crash
MARQUETTE — Non-life threatening injuries were sustained by a Skandia woman involved in a single vehicle personal injury crash in Skandia Township this morning.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash which occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. on U.S. 41 near East Johnson Road in Skandia, a press release from the office states.
Deborah Monty, 58, was operating a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on U.S. 41 when she struck a large snowdrift causing her to lose control of her vehicle. She slid sideways and then entered the snowbanbk where she overturned the vehicle coming to rest against a tree on its driver’s side.
Monty was extricated from the vehicle and transported to UP Health Systems-Marquette for non-life threatening injuries.
Assisting at the scene was Skandia Township Fire and Rescue.
