HUMBOLDT -- A 61-year-old Champion man is dead following a one-vehicle traffic crash in Humboldt Township Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. on westbound U.S. 41 just east of Marquette County Road FX or Wolf Lake Road in Humboldt.
The preliminary investigation shows the man drove off the right side of the roadway with the vehicle coming to rest on the driver's side. Bystanders found the man unresponsive, as did troopers who arrived on the scene later.
EMS transported the man to UP Health System where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post are investigating the crash.
