Veterans Day events slated

Jacobetti hosts ceremony

MARQUETTE — On Monday at 11 a.m., the D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony in the Chapel.

This year’s program host is the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 22. Refreshments will be served in the Jacobetti Home’s Recreation Room following the ceremony.

The public is invited to join in to honor the veterans residing at the home and in the community, who gave so much to ensure our freedom.

Negaunee has observance

NEGAUNEE — On Monday, at 11 a.m., Negaunee VFW Post 3165 and Auxiliary will be observing Veterans Day.

This annual ceremony will take place in front of the Negaunee City Hall at the Veteran’s Memorial Park. The public is encouraged to attend.

All are invited to the Post Home following services for a light luncheon and refreshments.

Hermansville Legion schedule

HERMANSVILLE — Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Post 340 in Hermansville has announced its Veterans Day plans.

Participants will meet at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the American Legion Club rooms, then at 10:45 a.m. will march to the Veteran’s Memorial Marker. There will be transportation available for veterans who wish to ride.

At 11 a.m. there will be a flag raising and a program at the Veteran’s Marker, with remarks by Post Commander James Wash, the placing of wreaths and the playing of “Taps.” After the ceremony, participants are invited to return to the American Legion club rooms for a light lunch.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
