Minor injuries sustained in crash

MARQUETTE — A 51-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a two-car personal injury accident at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Brickyard Road roundabout Thursday morning.

A 2018 Hyundai station wagon driven by a Quinnesec man lost control of his vehicle while attempting to navigate the roundabout. The Hyundai missed a Marquette Sheriff’s patrol car that was on the scene for a prior crash. The 2018 Hyundai then struck a Marquette Detailing tow truck that was on scene for a prior crash.

The driver of the Hyundai was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was transported to Upper Peninsula Health Systems-Marquette by Marquette Township Fire and Rescue. The tow truck driver and Marquette County Sheriff’s deputy were uninjured.

The driver was cited for Violation of the Basic Speed Limit. Deputies were assisted on scene by Marquette Township Fire and Rescue, Michigan State Police and Marquette Detailing.
