MARQUETTE — A Michigamme man was injured during a two-vehicle personal injury accident that occured yesterday on U.S. 41 East and Teal Lake Avenue in Negaunee.

The Negaunee Police Department responded to the accident which occured at approximately 8:10 p.m. Thursday. Witnesses state they observed a blue Jeep Compass driven by 73-year-old John Blanck run through the red light northbound from Teal Lake Avenue, a press release from the police department states. Blanck struck a Silver Toyota Highlander driven by 46-year-old Randall Stevens of Chassell. Stevens was westbound on US. 41 East as he was proceeding through the intersection and was struck by Blanck. Blanck was found at fault for the collision and was cited for running a red light. He was transported by ambulance to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of injuries. Stevenes advised he was was uninjured and did not seek medical aid.

Officers were assisted on scene by the Negaunee Fire Department, UPHS-Bell Memorial EMS and Anttila’s Towing of Ishpeming.
