MARQUETTE — Lyle Rutter of Chatham and John Mayotte of Marquette, both corrections officers at Marquette Branch Prison, have received Rotary Club honors for their work at the institution. Rutter was named correction officer of the quarter at Marquette Branch for the period April-June 1989, while Mayotte received the honors for the July-September 1989 period. Rutter, who has been in the corrections business for six years, resides in Chatham with his wife Sandra and their two children, Luke and Skip. Mayotte lives in Marquette with his wife, Sharon and their two children, Misti and Stacy. A corrections officer for 10 years, Mayotte is a post corrections officer’s union president and cities union activities as his hobby.

NEGAUNEE – Miss Maxine Torreano, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Egidio Torreano of Croix St. in Negaunee, will reign as queen of the annual Negaunee High School homecoming observance in connection with the Negaunee-Marquette football game. One of six candidates for the title named in preliminary balloting, Miss Torreano was the choice of high school boys for the title in a final vote.
