MARQUETTE — A subject was rescued from the signal light located at the end of the Presque Isle Park breakwater in Marquette Wednesday evening and transported to the hospital.

The subject’s friend called the police around 8:50 p.m., according to the Marquette City Police Department.

The subject was rescued from the breakwater unharmed and transported by EMS to UPHS-Marquette.

The Marquette City Police Department, Northern Michigan University Police Department, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies responded to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
