Boot Lake Bar & Grill set to host BootFest 2019

MUNISING — Boot Lake Bar & Grill kicks off BootFest 2019 with headliners the All Time Low Stars Featuring Kenny Olson (Kid Rock) and Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd) with Gasoline Gypsies, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys, The Lows, Stranded and Infathom as a six-band lineup for the two-day music festival.

BootFest launches Halloween weekend on Oct. 25-26. On the evening of Oct. 25, BootFest hosts a private VIP Halloween-themed event for 200 ticket holders, giving VIP guests an opportunity to meet and mingle with the bands, plus a tap takeover with Kenny Olson as celebrity bartender, and prizes for top three best costumes and an acoustic jam session performed by the festival’s musicians.

On Oct. 26, the festival kicks off with a six-band musical lineup starting with Upper Peninsula’s own Infathom and Stranded, Detroit’s The Lows, Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys, Gasoline Gypsies and The All Time Low Stars Featuring Olson and Keys.

Olson has an impressive curriculum vitae notably as founding member of Kid Rock’s Twisted Brown Trucker Band as well numerous appearances on the Experience Hendrix Tour and live or recording collaborations with bands such as Metallica, Aerosmith, Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Run-DMC, Chaka Khan, Sheryl Crow, Faith Evans, Les Paul and the all-star group 7daybinge, to name a few.

Keys has been performing on stage and recording in the studio for over four decades. His piano and keyboard work can be heard everywhere from the Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd, the outrageous 420 Funk Mob featuring George Clinton, to the Hip Hop genius of Yelawolf, as well as countless other indie bands and artists.

“Peter and I are excited to play at BootFest, as a Michigan-native, I have always loved the Upper Peninsula,” said Olson in a news release. “When Jennifer called and asked us to perform, we didn’t hesitate.”

“I am delighted to resurrect BootFest and have this opportunity to bring national acts to the area,” said Craig Trzeciak, Boot Lake Bar & Grill partner. “I am a huge fan of Kenny Olson’s and who doesn’t love Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Peter Keys?”

Pre-sale tickets for BootFest went on sale on Friday via EventBrite. Tickets bought before Oct. 10 will be $50 each. VIP tickets for both the private VIP event and the festival are $90 each. Concert goers can also enjoy a 15% discount using the code BootFest at local Munising Hotels or the Jack Pine Lodge and Campgrounds. Altran will be running buses between Munising and Boot Lake throughout the day.
