Mountain Dew releasing U.P. labels

MARQUETTE — Residents will be able to see the newest Mountain Dew bottles with a custom Upper Peninsula label at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Upper Peninsula Supply Company, 221 W. Washington St., Marquette.

In July, the company made a geographical mistake when the U.P. was incorrectly labeled as part of Wisconsin on its DEWnited States map.

A large “activation” space for people to “dunk” Mountain Dew employees, families and friends into a dunk tank will run Monday through Wednesday at the Upper Peninsula State Fair in Escanaba. Thousands of free bottles and swag will be given to attendees.

Gwinn schools to meet Monday

GWINN — The Gwinn Area Community Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Gwinn Middle/High School Library to discuss the ballot language of a new sinking fund request.
