1 injured, one cited after crash
NEGAUNEE — One person suffered minor injuries and one person was cited after a two-vehicle accident in Negaunee Saturday night, according to the Negaunee City Police Department.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Healy Avenue and Rail Street in Negaunee when a 2011 Ford Fusion was traveling west on County Road 480 when the driver failed to stop at the intersection, police said.
The Ford Fusion struck the passenger side of a 2017 Equinox that was traveling north on Ann Street crossing the intersection toward Healy Avenue.
The driver of the Equinox, a 20-year-old Negaunee woman, complained of minor injuries and sought her own treatment. The driver of the Fusion, a 40-year-old Albion man, was not injured and was cited for failure to yield, police said.
The Negaunee City Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Negaunee City Fire Department, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, UP Health System – Bell and Anttila’s Towing.
