K.I. SAWYER — Sawyer International Airport is announcing an additional flight to Chicago from the Marquette County airport, which became effective Thursday.

“We are excited to announce this additional flight to our schedule for summer travelers,” Jody Linberg, of marketing and development with Sawyer, said in a press release.

The new departing flight to O’Hare International Airport is operated by American Airlines and will depart from Sawyer at 3:30 p.m. daily. A daily 3 p.m. flight from O’Hare International Airport to Sawyer has also been added, according to officials.

The airport will continue two flights to Detroit and a daily flight to Minneapolis-St. Paul through SkyWest Airlines, operating as Delta Air. The airport will also continue operating a morning flight to O’Hare International airport, as well as an evening arrival from the O’Hare International Airport.
