1 person seriously injured in crash

IRON MOUNTAIN — One person was seriously injured and another was arrested for operating while intoxicated after a crash between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle occurred in Dickinson County according to the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.

The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. Saturday on Peterson Road near County Road 607 in Breitung Township, police said. A passenger on the motorcycle was serious injured and was transported to Dickinson County Hospital by Beacon Ambulance for treatment. The operator of the motorcycle was arrested for operating while impaired and was lodged at the Dickinson County Jail.

The Michigan State Police were assisted by Breitung Township Fire Department and Beacon Ambulance.

Police are not releasing names of the individuals involved at this time, they said.
