MARQUETTE — Marquette’s official park hours went into effect Tuesday.

City park hours are from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. There is no camping or overnight parking allowed in city parks.

As of Tuesday, the seasonal portion of Peter White Drive at Presque Isle Park will be open during park hours with the exception of closure for walking hours on the following days and times: 6-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday: and 7-10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Animals are prohibited at Presque Isle Park, unless confined to a motor vehicle, at all public bathing beaches, at Park Cemetery and at any special events where signs are posted specifically prohibiting animals with the exception of leader dogs for the blind.

A press release from the city advises people to be aware of and to obey all parking signage, including new signs near the Black Rocks area.
