Pictured standing, making her presentation is Maci Aho representing Negaunee High School at the Student of the Year lunch held Tuesday in the Sky Room at the Landmark Inn of Marquette. There were 10 students and schools represented at this year’s event. Other representatives were as follows: Samuel Gilles of Westwood High School, Marius Grazulis of Marquette Senior High School, Daniel Jeffries of Marquette Alternative High School, Madeleine Peramaki of Munising High School, Harrison Stine of North Star Montessori Academy, Justin Anthony of Republic Michigamme High School, Noah Groulx of Superior Central High School, Taylor Jancsi of Gwinn High School and Spencer Giroux of Ishpeming High School. The student chosen as student of the year will receive a $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship is sponsored by The Mining Journal and the following businesses: Bell Roofing, Econo Foods, Pomp’s Tire, Upper Michigan Community Federal Credit Union, Coachlight Restaurant, Bob’s Family Foods and Super One Foods.
