Wild winter rides at Al Quaal

Families and friends gather near the tow rope after tubing down the hill toward Teal Lake during a free community tubing event sponsored by Gauthier Insurance during the Fat-Ish Weekend at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming on Saturday. Weekend events included fat-tire bike racing and demos, free tubing, music and food and coffee vendors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the grooming efforts of the Range Area Mountain Bike Association, a nonprofit trail organization. (Journal photo by Corey Kelly)
