Meth lab seized, arrests made

ESCANABA — Two suspects believed to be involved in manufacturing meth were arrested at an Escanaba residence Tuesday.

Detectives assigned to the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, or UPSET, conducted an investigation involving the manufacturing of meth at a residence on Danforth Road in Wells Township of Delta County. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and seized numerous components used to manufacture meth, according to an UPSET press release.

Evidence at the scene and information obtained by detectives led them to a second residence on 2nd Street in the city of Escanaba. Detectives obtained a search warrant for that residence and seized additional components used to manufacture meth and arrested the two suspects.

One suspect was lodged at the Menominee County Jail on unrelated felony charges. Warrants for manufacturing and possession of meth will be sought in Delta County. The second suspect was arrested for possession and manufacturing meth and lodged in the Delta County Jail.

The names and identities of the suspects are being withheld at this time pending further investigation. Additional arrests are expected.

UPSET was assisted by Escanaba Public Safety and the Gladstone Police Department.
