Items stolen from M-28 stations

MARQUETTE — The Chocolay Township Police department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating items that were stolen from the rescue stations along M-28 East.

“When the equipment is stolen it takes time and money to replace,” a release about the stolen items states. “This also prevents the equipment from being used when needed.”

The several pieces of water rescue equipment taken include an orange and white rescue throw ring and two water rescue cans, according to police. All items were marked “property of CTFD” in black paint.

The equipment is provided by the Chocolay Township Fire Department, which offered the equipment in “hopes it will be available when needed to save people,” a release about the incident states.

According to the release, a $100 reward is offered for any information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of the individual that took either of the items.
