Carnegie library friends to meet

ISHPEMING — The Friends of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Leverton Community Room on the lower level of the library.

All who are interested in supporting the library and its programs are encouraged to join the group. Meetings are held monthly for eight months of the year, with breaks for mid-summer and mid-winter.

The FOL group has been supporting the library in a variety of ways for 39 years.

The group helps focus public attention on the library and promote its public and private support. The group offers volunteer opportunities and raises funds through book sales and sales of historic calendars and notecards, annual recipe books and other items from time to time. They also sponsor lyceums and other events several times a year and publish a newsletter four times annually.
