Classic Cars on Third Saturday

MARQUETTE — A classic car and automobile show will be held along Third Street in Marquette Saturday, with proceeds to benefit the Marquette Women’s Center.

The second annual Classic Cars on Third will be open for public viewing from noon to 5 p.m. Registration will start at 10 a.m. next to the Third Base Bar, 726 N. Third St. Awards will be given at 3:30 p.m.

Tara Laase-McKinney, promotions and event coordinator for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, said her office was excited to host the show again this year.

“We’ve heard a lot of good things about this event last year, there are a lot of people from across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and northern Wisconsin who are excited to head to Marquette for the show this year,” Laase-McKinney said in a press release.

Proceeds will benefit the Marquette Women’s Center, in remembrance of Jessica Drummond, who was a victim of domestic violence.

The following streets will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday:

≤ Third Street from Michigan Street to Park Street

≤ Ohio Street from Front Street to Fourth Street

≤ Hewitt Avenue from Front Street to Fourth Street

≤ Prospect Street from Front Street to Fourth Street

≤ Crescent Street from Front Street to Fourth Street

Traffic will be detoured using Michigan Street, Fourth Street and Magnetic Street.
