Libraries to hold celebrations

ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Carnegie and Negaunee Public libraries are holding celebrations to wrap-up their summer reading programs.

Ishpeming Carnegie Library will host special activities Friday and Saturday during library hours. Children can drop off their reading logs, choose a free book and enter a special prize drawing. Other activities include craft projects and a facility-wide scavenger hunt.

Negaunee Public Library will host its tween/teen and kid invitation-only summer reading finale next week.

The children’s party, for ages 3-9, starts at 2 p.m. Monday, with the tween/teen party following at 3 p.m. Negaunee librarians ask that parents or teens RSVP on the library’s Facebook page.

Attendees should include their name or their child’s, how many will be attending and if they need lactose-free ice cream at the event. Activities included stories and crafts.Patrons who complete their summer reading program can enter into a drawing for special prizes that will be given out at each party. Children age 7 or younger must have an adult accompany them to the party.
