Symposium at NMU planned

MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University Department of Chemistry is hosting the fifth annual Student Research Symposium sponsored by the Upper Peninsula Section of the American Chemical Society on Saturday.

Elke Schoffers, chemistry professor at Western Michigan University, will deliver the keynote address, “Does science get lost in translation?”

She will explore the media’s pivotal role in translating scientific outcomes.

The seminar is at 2 p.m. in Mead Auditorium. The public is invited.
