MARQUETTE — Lorin Elise Rochon, 31, of Marquette, has been arraigned upon a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, felonious assault, in the 96th District Court.

The charge stems from a standoff incident between Rochon and police on Feb. 9. Police arrived at Rochon’s residence around 3:30 p.m. Feb. 9 for a well-being check on Rochon. Before police reached Rochon’s door, she opened the door and pointed a firearm at officers. Officials said the standoff lasted several hours, with Rochon eventually handing the firearm over to a third party.

Rochon was arrested on Monday in connection to the incident on a warrant authorized by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s office. She was lodged at Marquette County Jail, with bond set at $150,000. Rochon’s probable cause hearing will be held Feb. 28, with her preliminary examination scheduled for March 7.
