Pinewood Derby set for Thursday

MARQUETTE — The Boy Scouts of America’s Bay-Lakes Council is hosting its Pinewood Derby in Marquette Township for boys and girls who aren’t Cub Scouts in kindergarten through fourth grade.

The event is being held to give Upper Peninsula families a chance to introduce themselves to the Cub Scouts and to try one of Scouts’ signature activities. Cub Scouts is the Boy Scout program for kindergarten through fifth-graders.

The event takes place 4 p.m. Thursday at the Westwood Mall in Marquette Township. The cost is $8 and includes the Pinewood Derby car kit and registration. A parent or guardian is required to attend and participate in the event. Pre-registration is required to ensure enough materials for participants.
