MARQUETTE — Residents in the outlying areas of the Upper Peninsula and northeastern Wisconsin should begin receiving WNMU-TV 13 in July without worry of the sudden blackouts that have plagued the station for the past few years.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration has announced that Northern Michigan University will receive $282,388 to replace the station’s main transmission equipment in Ely Township and the microwave equipment on the university’s campus in Marquette.

MARQUETTE — Major stores in Marquette cut the price on their own brands of bagged coffee six cents a pound this week. The retail drop came as roasters of “big name” nationally-advertised, vacuum-packed coffee reduced prices three cents a pound, making the retail price $1, lowest in 19 months. They also cut decaffeinated coffee two to three cents per pound.
