Renovation at the Room at the Inn warming center, located at 447 W. Washington St., Marquette, continues Tuesday with scaffolding placed on the front of the structure.
The building's awning was removed in 2025. The agency's signage is being repaired and improved and the facade brick work is being removed and replaced with new brick work. Additionally, the building's electrical system is being upgraded plus window replacement is planned. Also, the boiler that heats the building will be improved and the showers upgraded. Paying for all of the above is a $100,000 grant from Marquette County and a $72,000 grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. (Journal photo by Bud Sargent)
