MARQUETTE -- Marquette Wallpaper and Paint announced on Wednesday that the business would be closing in a month or two after 80 years at the corner of Third and Main in downtown Marquette.

"Darryl (Hamari) is going to enjoy a well-deserved retirement after 51 years at the paint store, while Mark (Hamari) has made arrangements to continue working somewhere else for a few more years," said the store's statement.

The announcement stated that they would be taking offers to purchase the business and that they would be running a closing sale starting Oct. 19.

"Thank you to all our customers for your loyalty--it's been a great run, and we leave with no regrets," noted the store's announcement.

Updates on their official closing day will be posted to the store's Facebook Page, at Marquette Wallpaper and Paint.
