Marquette County to hold special meeting for CAD demonstration

By Annie Lippert 1 min read

MARQUETTE -- The Marquette County Board of Commissioners has released an announcement stating that they will be holding a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 for a Tyler Technologies CAD demonstration.

The meeting will be held in the commission chambers at the Marquette County Court House, room #231.

The board is currently weighing the decision of whether to switch the County's 911 dispatch system to Motorola Solutions. The other U.P. counties, as well as the State Police, all utilize the Tyler Technologies system and there has been community concern over whether utilizing a different system could hinder the coordination of inter-agency responses to emergencies.

The county board had previously held a special meeting for a Motorola Solutions demonstration.

More information about the CAD transition is available in the Sept. 2 Mining Journal article "Marquette City Commission urges Marquette County to transfer dispatch services to Tyler Technologies CAD."
