Milano Smokehouse to remain open

ISHPEMING -- The Milano Smokehouse, a butcher shop and restaurant in Ishpeming, has announced it will remain open after an announcement last month that they were considering selling the business.
The Milano Smokehouse Facebook account has released a statement that "Since (the announcement about closing), we've had a lot of time to think about what that really meant. We've talked to many of our customers, friends and those we trust. We've talked to a few potential buyers and nothing felt 'right.'"
Instead of closing, Milano said that they are making some "Big changes," including adding a new team member who will become more involved in the business over time.
"Thank you for supporting us, for walking through our doors, for grabbing food at events, browsing the shop, having a meal and for making this place what it is," said Milano's post. "We truly couldn't have done the last 2 ½ years without you, and we're excited to continue this journey together."
On August 17, Milano Smokehouse announced that they were looking into selling the business, saying that "you have to recognize when something no longer fits with where life is taking you. After a lot of thought and discussions as a family as well as with mentors and close friends, we've made the very difficult decision to close Milano Smokehouse."
Later, the Milano Smokehouse Facebook page shared some of the reasoning behind the decision, including a flareup of Tim Milano's back injury. They had originally stated that they would close around the end of September, but now will remain open.
