LWVMC to distribute voter guides throughout the community

It's election season, which means it's time to check out the League of Women Voters' award-winning, nonpartisan voter resources, available online at VOTE411.org and in the League's printed voter guides. These resources are brought to you locally in collaboration with the Mining Journal and the Michigan League of Women Voters.
The locally printed voter guide will be sent to the newspaper's subscribers in Saturday's edition of the paper. Copies of the local and state voter guides will be distributed to libraries, township and city halls, senior centers, coffee shops, stores and other locations throughout Marquette County at the same time that absentee ballots are mailed to voters.
Races included in the voter guides are: U.S. Senate and House; the two statewide proposals; the Michigan House 109th and the Senate 38th District; the Marquette City Commission; the Ishpeming City Council and Mayoral races; the Marquette Board of Light and Power; Powell and Republic-Michigamme School boards; and all Marquette County contested township races.
The League of Women Voters has invited all candidates in these races to provide biographical information and answer a few questions about their positions on issues relevant to the office. This lets voters compare candidates' backgrounds, qualifications, and responses before filling out their ballot.
At VOTE411.org, you can also find information about your registration status, registration and early voting dates and deadlines, your polling location for early in-person voting or for Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 3), and more. Just enter your address and follow the prompts.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization committed to providing citizens with the resources needed to be informed voters.
