MARQUETTE -- The League of Women Voters of Marquette County will be hosting two candidate forums ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election.

The first forum will be at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Lakeview Arena Citizen's Forum in Marquette, and will feature candidates for the Marquette City Commission. The candidates for that race are Margaret Brumm, Kevin Clegg, Mark Curran, Ross Johnson, Marcella Krupski, Matthew Luttenberger and Paul Schloegel.

The second forum will be held at 6 p.m. in the Ishpeming High School Auditorium and will feature candidates for Ishpeming mayor and city council. Candidates for mayor are Brett Argall and Jason Chapman, candidates for city council full team are William Anderson, Kurt Kipling and Collin Fleury and candidates for city council partial team are Claurea Demarest, Andrea Jackson and Justin White.

"Each candidate will answer the same questions," said the posting about the event from the LWVMC. "This is not a debate. There is no cross-talk or rebuttal. The questions come from constituents. You can submit a question in advance ... or as a member of the audience. The forum will also be live-streamed to the League of Women Voters of Marquette County YouTube Channel."

Questions can be submitted in advance at lwvmqt.org/contact/.

The League of Women Voters is a non-profit, non-partisan political organization seeking to educate voters, helping voters to register and advocating for voter's rights.
