Ishpeming’s Thursday Night Summer Concert Series extended to Sept. 24

ISHPEMING -- Due to high turnout, the 23rd annual Thursday Night Summer Concert Series at Old Ish Park in Ishpeming is being extended.
"We aren’t ready to let go of summer yet in Ishpeming, so we decided to extend the (farmers) market and concert series out a few more weeks," said Ishpeming Farmers Market Manager Kelly Milano. "Diversion was supposed to play in July but had to be canceled due to the wildfire smoke, so we are excited to get them (to play tonight). Bring a blanket and a sweatshirt, grab a warm drink and come down and join us for the last few weeks of summertime fun."
The remaining schedule of musical acts is as follows:
Tonight -- Diversion
Sept. 17 -- Adam Carpenter and the Upper Hand Band
Sept. 24 -- Staycation with Matt Byce and Drew Collister
The events are put together by the Ishpeming Community Events group.
Milano said there are around 30 vendors at the farmers market, including produce, sourdough, maple syrup, cookies and snacks and crafts, and 4-5 food trucks in the Stone Market food court. The farmers market runs 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the live music goes from 7-8 p.m., or sometimes a bit longer.
"Grab some food from our food trucks, some products, crafts or snacks from our vendors and settle in for some excellent music and community," Milano said.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert series will be held at the Lake Bancroft pavilion.
